The Accounting Assistant program provides training for the person seeking an entry-level career in accounting and bookkeeping positions. Applicants to this program should be good at working with numbers and concentrating on details. Students gain knowledge of the accounting processes used in governmental, service, and manufacturing environments as well as skills in computerized accounting systems. Graduates may pursue careers as bookkeepers, accounting clerks, and billing clerks in virtually every industry, or they may elect to continue their education to earn the Accounting associate degree.
